When J and I got married last August we saw it as the start of a new family. And we wanted to add our own addition to this family some one who was part of each of us combined. So we needed a baby!
L is this new addition to the family. She is a daughter, a granddaughter and a niece. She is a second cousin and a great-granddaughter. She is also a great-niece. She is not just a baby.
Seeing L with her extended family reminds me and J why we wanted a baby in the first place. We wanted to extend our already pretty awesome family and introduce some one else to these wonderful people in our lives. Our family was ready for L and the boundless love and energy for her is wonderful to see.
We are sharing many magic moments with L and her large family. And next week we are off on our first family holiday. Two sets of grandparents, one aunt and uncle and two new parents eager for L to spend some quality time with them all (read that as meaning the two parents get a night and day off from parent duties!)
