Baby Halloween!

I have never been a big one for Halloween. I usually spend the evening avoiding trick or treaters and maybe carving a pumpkin just for us.
But this is L's first everything and that includes Halloween. We arranged a party for all the NCT babies in my weekly meet up. I was meant to host but then our boiler went bang and extended our DIY leaving us a bit topsy turvy and unable to properly host. So venue changed we went ahead with the party.

The babies had a great time with lights and ribbon spiders and the mums had a celebratory glass of Prosecco and jacket potatoes!

I made each baby a little party bag, a must for any children's party! Each bag contained a test tube or bubbles, a balloon for mum to blow up, a glow stick and some chocolates for mum. Pretty simple and not costing very much.

We used our glow stick in the bath! They are non toxic but not recommended for children under 3. I didn't let L get this near her mouth but she held it as did I and we turned off the bathroom lights. So not actually a Halloween activity but if you see them reduced in the Halloween aisle pick some up!

Doing her best ET impression!

I made a sensory bottle very simply with Halloween table confetti, some cut up pipe cleaners and water in a cello taped up bottle. Ultra simple. More Halloween bottles could contain water dyed red with oil for a blood and guts bottle! Or glittery combinations of gold and green.

The lights of Halloween lanterns are an obvious sensory delight for babies and our babies all really enjoyed the lanterns, even if it was for only a short time.

These little lanterns brought by one of the mums are from the pound shop! Bargain baby toy.

I have a tub of treats in case any of the local children come knocking. Although part of me hopes none will so I can eat all the chocolates!

Oh and if you want to add a book to your Halloween activities I highly recommend this wonderful book. Using black, white and orange woodcut illustrations this story is about how creative a witch is with the ghosts in her new home!

Happy Halloween Readers!
