Toddler Creations: Cotton Wool Ball Painting

We've had a week of farm based play, a small world, books, puzzles and we finished the week with a visit to Godstone Farm in Surry. 

When we got home we were all a bit tired and needed an activity to get us towards dinner time. A handy collection of pudding pots were the perfect size for some cotton wool ball stamps. 

Very simply cotton wool slightly teased out and then pinched in a peg. A great stamp and easy for a toddler to manipulate, hold and move. 

ELC Valentines Day Art Challenge

I love being crafty and creating, this is certainly something I can't wait to share with L as she grows up. So when I received an email asking me if I wanted to take part in the ELC Valetines Day Art Challenge I jumped at the chance. We crafted our own Christmas cards and decorations in December so we have had a bit of crafty practice but haven't done anything recently. 

I was very excited when a box arrived for us, a very big box! It was full of lovely crafting materials and a clever Collage Toolbox storage box which shall come in handy in the coming years. 

Baby Craft at Christmas: Salt Dough Decorations

As a teacher I would regularly spend my mornings at work making a dough of one sort of another. Playdough, cloud dough and salt dough. Playing with a dough is great for grose and fine motor development as well as being an eternally popular activity in any playroom or classroom. 

Today I made a salt dough. I most often use this dough when I want to make something to keep as it dries really well. It can also easily be painted and decorated for Diwali lamps or, as today Christmas decorations. 

It is very quick and easy to make. Simply put equal amounts of plain flour and salt in a bowl. I used a cup measurement.
