These are just a few I used in class when our class teddy turned five!
Happy Birthday Winnie!
Valerie Thomas and Korky Paul
Winnie plans her birthday party, however due to a pesky trumpet she manages to loose all her guests! A great book to read with children as they begin to be included in part preparations. I've used it in my Reception classes when we have celebrated birthdays of class animals. Great for supporting list writing, cake baking and party games.
Kippers Birthday
Mick Inkpen
Kipper organises a party for his friends but gets tired after making the invitations. This leads to an unintentional wording error. A subtle message for children getting to grips with date language. But again lovely to use for children as they prepare birthday parties, cake and balloons are very important for Kipper.
It's My Birthday
Helen Oxenbury
A team effort for cake baking and a beautifully nostalgic book from Helen Oxenbury. Again this was used in class as we made our own cake and we wrote a list of all the ingredients before going to the shop, we did not have as many helpful friends as this birthday boy has.
