Mamas and Papas One Four Four

Last week I was lucky enough to win a spot at a yoga class run by Frame at the opening weekend of the new Mamas and Papas' store in the heart of 'nappy valley' on Northcote Road.

One Four Four is a new concept store. Part shop and part community space. It's on similar lines to the Westfield White City concept store. There are personal shoppers to guide you through big purchases alongside a choice edit from the extensive catalogue of Mamas and Papas' beauties for you to browse and buy in store. This is lovely as sometimes baby stores can be overwhelming in the selections on offer. There was also a gorgeous selection of the Tiba + Marl changing bags, I've been lusting after one for ages, so cool and stylish, so it was great to have a snoop in store.

The Rest and Enrich cart is full of gorgeous treats for expectant mums, I particularly liked the Knackerd Cow candle from super cool brand Cowshed and the Bloom and Blossom Revitalising Leg and Foot Spray. This is one of the worlds of baby you can explore in store along with travel, (who isn't a fan of the brilliant Armadillo family of pushchairs, we love our XT), fashion (gorgeous clothes currently stocked up to 2 years) and home (where I saw lots of treats from the AW16 collection I would love to buy to update the nursery for L and Peach).

The final touch is a studio space downstairs, this is the calm space where Frame will be running regular pre and post natal classes from September to keep you in tip top condition through nine months of baby growing and beyond. This store can really see you through from positive test to new mama in a stylish and healthy way.

Joan, one of the founders of Move Your Frame and spin off Mum Hood, was a fantastic teacher for our session. She introduced herself and asked how I was feeling and if I had any niggles, these were all taken into account within the session. It was hard work, but so nice to have Joan there rather than me using my Pregnancy Yoga DVD with no guidance. She was able to adjust misalignment and suggest alternatives to suit the different stages of pregnancy we were all at.

I am hiding at the back.
If I could check in with Joan weekly I would do! Following Mum Hood has already given me lots of extra tips for making space for baby and supporting my hips, and I will be looking really closely in my postnatal recovery period to repair the inevitable damage of growing a small human, especially on those stomach muscles.

After the session I talked with Joan and the lovely Karen from N4Mummy about all things second pregnancy, cesareans, VBACs and postnatal recovery. It was so lovely to chat to other mums at a similar stage of pregnancy as myself. And really this is something which I think One Four Four would be prefect for, meeting other mums and finding your people, the village, in which to raise your baby.

I left the store with a spring in my newly loosened hips and a goodie bag full of treats for me and Peach. I will really take away from this day the phrase which was lit up in the studio of One Four Four, and this store is the perfect place to enjoy them all, both before, and after baby arrives.
